Udta Punjab to be revised with 94 Cuts
After the many bitter arguments between the Censor Board and Anurag Kashyap which have been excessively covered by mainline media, Udta Punjab will soon be passed with an A certificate, but only if it adheres to the 94 cuts suggested by the board.
A 13 pointer letter has been drafted by the board which advises the makers to edit 94 scenes. which include 20 abusive words including ‘k*tti’ (bi***), chitta ve (a slang for drugs) and har**mi (bas****). alongwith MP, MLA and Parliament words are to be taken out from the film.
Additionally, a cut on city names like Jashanpura, Jalandhar, Chandigarh, Amritsar, Tarantaran, Moga and Ludhiana to be edited out. A signboard of Punjab to be deleted.
The CBFC have problems with a dog named Jackie Chain as it refers to the Hollywood star Jackie Chan. A scene where Rockstar Tommy Singh aka Shahid Kapoor is seen urinating over his audience, has been told to be dropped. Some objectionable scenes where the crowd is shown injecting itself with drugs is going to chopped off as well.
