Why Did Salman Khan once fight with Film-Maker Subhash Ghai?

Salman Khan is a very moody persona, as witnessed by media, fans and his fellow colleagues. His sense of likes / dislikes are so strong and unshakable, that he can abandon a certain person for life or put him on a pedestal. 

Flashback to his encounter with Subhash Ghai : 

Salman once came to see a Subhash Ghai film shoot. Moments later, the director noticed him and inquired about his visit to the set. Salman looked away and said ' I have come to meet you. I want to be a hero in your film'. Subhash Ghai found his body language very rude and arrogant and sent him back by just saying 'Sure,sure!" 

Next Ghai realized, Salman has been signed up by Sooraj Barjatiya in Maine Pyaar Kiya, which turned out to be the biggest hits of the year. Salman gradually moved to the A-list category of stars with Hum Aapke Hain Koun in the 90s. Ever since then, Salman Khan avoided Subhash Ghai in parties / events. Subhash Ghai found this weird as he had never made a promise to him.

At another time, few years later, Salman joined Subhash Ghai's friend's party and socialized with all but Ghai.  The director felt uneasy and decided to leave. Salman kept trying his patience by showing up in front of his face and they eventually got into a heated argument without a solid reason. 

Next morning, Salim Saab called up Subhash Ghai and apologized on his son's behalf. He even sent Salman to say sorry to Ghai. He came in with guilt and admitted his mistake. Since then, Salman holds Subhash Ghai as an elder brother/ father figure who even worked with him in Yuvraaj and showered all the respect possible.
