Actor Om Puri is deeply embarrassed on his recent Army Comments and his asking to be punished
Senior Veteran Actor Om Puri was recently invited to debate the Ban on Pakistani Artistes on a News Channel, his words shook the nation as he made a rather disrespectful remark for our Indian Army.
In an opinion based show, Om Puri, what seemed like a hasty remark said, " Did anybody force them (the soldiers) to join the army?" following the Uri Strikes in Kashmir, due to which many of our soldiers lost their lives.
He was quick to realise the grave mistake hw made with his words and added, "I am very embarrassed at what I said and I deserve punishment, not forgiveness. I first apologize to the Martyrs' families, if at all they will forgive me, I apologize to the whole country, the army. I know it’s not justified that you say so much and then think a sorry will make it right"
Pleading for punishment Om Puri's statement was hugely disapproved by Fellow Actors and Industry as well.
A lawyer filed a complaint against the 65 year old veteran artist for the insulting remarks and soon an FIR might be filed. Om Puri wants to be at the same situation as the soldiers and experience the consequences the brave men face, combating enemies on the borders of our nation.
