Trivia on Celebrated Actor Rekha 

Rekha never uses a surname, ever wondered why!  Her father Gemini Ganesan never accepted Rekha as his daughter.  For she was born before her parents got married. A beautiful baby girl was abandoned.  Due to the same, her mother Pushpavalli's South Film career came to a stand-still.

Rekha started working very early in life, in order to support her mother financially. She was initially offered movies in B-Category, but took them up without any qualms, for the money which came along. Gradually, she shifted to A-list films and then began her journey to super stardom.

Here's her personal confession : 

Bombay was like a jungle, and I had walked in unarmed. It was one of the most frightening phases of my life... I was totally ignorant of the ways of this new world. Guys did try and take advantage of my vulnerability. I did feel,"What am I doing? I should be in school, having an ice-cream, fun with my friends, why am I even forced to work, deprived of normal things that a child should be doing at my age?" Every single day I cried, because I had to eat what I didn't like, wear crazy clothes with sequins and stuff poking into my body. Costume, jewelery would give me an absolute terrible allergy. Hair spray wouldn't go off for days even despite all my washing. I was pushed, literally dragged from one studio to another. A terrible thing to do to a 13-year-old child

Apparently, Rekha was deeply hurt by her father's disapproval of her, and even refused to attend his funeral.

Rekha was once linked to Sanjay Dutt as well. In a film they played Mother-Son but in reality the situation was complete the opposite. They even secretly got married and went missing from the city for several weeks. Apparently, this was done by Rekha in a bid to get Amitabh Bachchan's attention.

When Sunil Dutt, heard the rumors of their alleged marriage, he immediately got Sanjay Dutt married to Richa Sharma.

Rekha has had a tough personal life, as her husband Mukesh Aggarwal committed suicide with a note ' Don't Blame Anyone', she fought a personal battle amid people writing her off as a witch and murderess.

Today the actor is renowned for her legacy of films and dons a sindoor despite being a widow.
