Unusual Pairings in Bollywood  

As a film rides on the shoulders of its lead cast for performance and business, we as an audience look forward to great pairings which we can accept as a couple.  Some film makers are however experimenting with their lead cast by signing unconventional couples on-screen.   

Let’s take a look : 

Kareena and Arjun Kapoor 

They may have 5 years age difference as Kareena is older, yet they seem to create magic as a couple. In this still, you can see Arjun Kapoor with a Mangal-Sutra.  Ki and Ka is slated for an April 1^st release and shall mock stereotypes. Kia and Kabir are a modern couple who swap gender responsibilities and are happy implementing their respective roles. 

Shahrukh Khan and Alia Bhatt 

With a difference of around 28 years between them, Alia and Shahrukh Khan were least expected to be paired opposite one another. Yet the super film maker Gauri Shinde is bringing them together for her next film. It shall reportedly trace relationships at different phases of life.  There were rumors that SRK just has a cameo in it, but Alia has cleared it, stating about his full-fledged role. 

Sunny Leone and Ram Kapoor

Sunny and Ram Kapoor were the oddest couples on screen, but they managed to pull off a decent chemistry in a forgettable Bollywood film, Kuch Kuch Locha Hain.  Interestingly, Sunny Leone wished to work with Aamir Khan as quoted by her in an interview and the superstar agreed in the affirmative.

Sakshi and Aamir will make for a great married couple, considering the fact that they are superstars in their respective medium. Earlier, Mallika Sherawat was considered to play Aamir’s wife but fortunately for Sakshi, the proposal didn’t materialize.  Dangal will have Aamir training his daughters to become wrestling champions, which he as an individual could not fulfill.  Kangana was apparently being considered for one of his daughters, but the actress dropped the offer. 

Ranbir and Aishwariya 

Ranbir and Aishwariya will be seen together in Karan Johar’s Ae Dil Hain Mushkil, touted to be a mature love story / love triangle.  It boasts of a huge cast with Fawad, Saif and Anushka as a part of the narrative as well.  Notably, Ranbir served as an AD ( Assistant Director in Aa Ab Laut Chalein), Aishwariya’s debut film with RK Studios.  They have an age gap of 10 years and the screenplay is assumably written keep this in mind.

We can’t wait to see them all on celluloid, exception Ram and Sunny’s film came and went unnoticed.
