Raj Kapoor’s Favorite Grandchild

      Ranbir was his grand dad’s favorite kid in the family. He would complain to him about the scolding he received from his mother ( Neetu Singh), for which she was reprimanded. He has been named after his granddad, whose original name was Ranbir and unlike other family members, does not have a nickname. His mom lovingly calls him ‘Raymond’ as she thinks he is a complete man.

  Karishma and Kareena are his first cousins

      The star kids are paternal first cousins of each other They share a great family bond and host family reunions often. Reportedly, Kareena and Ranbir were approached for the brother-sister role in Dil Dhadkne Do, which did not materialize.

  

   Ranbir was an average child 

    

      He lacked interest in academics. His mother was often called to his  school with complaints of her son looking up his teacher’s skirt or for his poor attendance at H.R College.  Ranbir pursued method acting at the Lee Strasberg University in New York, yet did not find it good enough.

      From cleaning floors to fixing lights, Rabir had his share of struggle on the sets of Black. He dreamt of being launched by his Director, Sanjay Leel Bhansali which came true with Sawaariya. Ranbir dedicated his first film to his grandfather Raj Kapoor by playing a Tramp, similar to the roles his granddad played.

    

   Medical Condition 

      Not many know that Ranbir has a deviated Septum, and a huge cut on his right cheek which prevents him from normal speech and food intake due to which he speaks and eats fast.This occurred in his childhood, when he was rushing to the loo and fell head first into the pot

   Romance 

      Ranbir’s first relationship happened in class 7, after which he suffered a heartbreak.  As a teenager, he had a huge crush on Avantika Malik, wife of Actor Imran Khan. To pursue her, he would visit the 'Just Mohabbat' set often.  Before his commitment to Katrina Kaif, Ranbir was dating Deepika Padukone and was briefly linked to Sonam Kapoor.

      Films

        Some of his best work has transpired with Barfii and Rockstar for which Ranbir has received critical acclaim as well as commercial success. His other notable projects are Bachna Ae Haseeno, Tamasha, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, Rocket Singh and Raajneeti.

He had a dysfunctional relationship with his father, Rishi Kapoor which improved on the sets of Aa Ab Laut Chalen, as he accompanied his dad to the US for filming the same.  He is extremely close to his mother, but shies to see her films.

Game and Football Addict 

Ranbir loves to crush candies on Candy Crush Mobile Game and is a Football fanatic. He even owns Mumbai City FC in the Indian Super League.
