Management Lessons From Rocket Singh - Salesman Of The Year 




The corporate culture of a shaky clutured business is perfectly captured in the screenplay of 'Rocket Singh - Salesman Of The Year'.  A young average in academics lad, Harpreet Singh Bedi nails the interview at (AYS) At Your Service Computer Assembling Agency, by selling various petty things to the owner.

Mangament Lessons To Learn From The Film : 

1. Work Ethics -  Harpreet is honest, self-motivated and goes about with his on-field interactions with the said integrity. However, his very first encounter with a Top Client becomes unpleasant, when the client demands a bribe for the services. Harpreet is taken by suprise, and reports the complaint to his boss, for which he is publicly humiliated and given a demotion.


2. Dedication -  Despite the humiliation suffered, Harpreet does not quit his job and is stern to not let boss call any other employee names like 'Zero' / 'Duffer'. He decides to keep his niceness on hold and works toward adjusting to the standards of the corporate.  A good employee is mistreated and made to re-think his intrinsic  nature.


3. Entrepreneurship -  Harpreet soon grasps the business sense and decides to focus on key strategies of 'Customer Service ' and 'Cheaper Computer Assembly Rates' with his new business called 'Rocket Singh Corporation'. They manage to get their first huge order and sustain the business. They even include a low waged worker for his talent and bring him on board as a partner. They soon overtake the profits of 'At Your Service' Computer Assembly Agency.


4. Power & Control - AYS Owner Sunil Puri is furious at the declining reputation of his company and proposes to buy out Harpreet's 'Rocket Singh Corporation' , which Harpreet rejects and boldly mentions he would acquire AYS in the future.

5. Failure and Redemption - Sunil Puri soon finds out his employed staff have been operating the management of Rocket Singh, he fires them and acquire the company at Re.1/-
AYS is not able to successfully maintain the business ethics which were implied by Rocket Singh Corporation , and the company is returned back to Harpreet at the same price.


A good employee at every corporate must be encouraged and groomed the right way. A strong ethical work sense must be retained. Rocket Singh 'Salesman Of The Year'  is a brilliant example of working within an ego driven company.
