    Asha Bhosle is a creative, dynamic and versatile singer, whose career spans six long decades and began at the tender age of 10 when she lent her voice to a Marathi film song. 

   Asha ji has mastered several genres in the likes of Poetry, Ghazals, Pop, Sensual and Devotional numbers. Irrespective of her age, Asha ji has suited the personality of all the lead actors over the years. 

  Her contribution to Hindi Music Industry has been immense with the acknowledgement of the Indian Government who have honored her with Dadasaheb Phalke Award as well as Padma Vibhushan. 

  Initially, at the onset of Asha ji's career, she sang for smaller budget films and was second to her sister Lata Mangeshkar, Geeta Dutt and Begum Jaan, who got the major chunk of singing share. But with time, Ashaji found her feet and delivered some of the biggest hits, which are chartbusters even today.  Lots of work came her way, when Lata ji's equation was getting sour with the composers. Her re-launch was brought in by sensational AR Rahman in the 90s.

  On the personal front, she eloped to marry Ganpatrao Bhosle but ended her marriage only to find a much younger RD Burman. Asha ji is a proud mother to three children. Her family bond suffered greatly as she chose to marry at the age of 16 years.
