Priyanka finds India to be a difficult country
International Star and Global Icon Priyanka Chopra showed a bit displeasure on Indian mindsets and claimed it is tough to change our situation overnight.
Adding to her remark, she said, "India is a difficult country. It is like one whole world wherein each state has different traits, different culture, different language, different writing, different thought process and different religion. It (change in mindset for women) is not going to be changed tomorrow"
Women are considered second fiddle here. Their opinions and thoughts don't matter. They are pulled down if they reach the peak of their respective career. She further added, "Since the time I remember, and it is not our country’s fault, the whole world treats women as second fiddle. It will take sometime to change that. And the change can only come when all the girls will stand united and ask for their right"
Elaborating on her thoughts, she mentioned how important it is for mothers to teach their sons to respect women. Consider them as equals and let them lead an independent fruitful life.
Being a goodwill ambassador with UNICEF, Priyanka also threw light on the Rich Poor divide stating, "We have forgotten humanity in this disparity. And we can overcome it by creating opportunity to include them (less privileged) in your life. Slowly you will make a difference. Opportunities should be created by the government, which they are, but government cannot change mindset. Change will come from within us,” said the National Award winning actress."
She concluded by saying, "Be the best version of yourself - girl or boy"
We hope her positive influence is used in bringing about necessary changes for good.
