Festival Films of 2016


Watching a film is no less than a celebration. Audiences flock to the theatres during festive times to watch their favorite film and the whole experience becomes celebratory with an extended holiday.
Filmmakers too bank upon holidays to earn more revenue from their productions. Hence, it is a win-win situation for both viewers as well as makers.

B4U has listed down Films which will find their release during big festivals. Here’s your feast J


     RAEES

Excel Entertainment’s crime thriller Raees will be releasing on 8th of July’16 during the eid festival, posing to be the biggest treat for SRK fans.  The film will mark the debut of Pakistani Heroine Mahira Khan in Bollywood and have the talented Nawazuddin Siddiqui in a significant role. The film’s first schedule is shot and the makers are gearing towards its completion. Red Chillies Entertainment shall be co-producing the film. Set in the 1980s the film is directed by Rahul Dholakia from Lamhaa fame.



      AIRLIFT

      The Akshay Kumar starrer , Airlift, is sure to bring out the patriot in us this Republic Week with a 22nd Jan’16 release. The film also features Nimrat Kaur in a prominent role. The story takes us back to 1990’s when Kuwait was invaded by Iraq and how a certain influential man fell to its trap along with 1,70,000 Indians. We can’t wait to witness history again.



SULTAN 

Interestingly, Sultan that has Salman Khan in the lead role will also release on the same day as Raees. Salman Khan will be seen essaying the role of a wrestler in this highly awaited Sports Drama. Randeep Hooda will feature as his coach while the female lead is yet to be finalized. The film will be made by Ali Abbas Zafar under the Yash Raj Films banner.





     GREAT GRAND MASTI

      Also known as Masti 3, this installment starring Riteish Deshmukh, Vivek Oberoi and Aftab Shivdasani in lead roles shall be funnier than the previous parts. The film’s last schedule is being shot and soon will be open to promotions. Urvashi Rautela, will be playing the female lead.  Balaji Motion Pictures to make our Good Friday a Great Friday by releasing Great Grand Masti on 24th March, 2016



    

     AE DIL HAI MUSHKIL 


Touted to be a mature love story, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil stars Ranbir Kapoor, Aishwariya Rai Bachchan & Anushka Sharma in the lead roles. Interestingly, ace film-maker Karan Johar makes great films on relationships and this one is no exception. The film will be a Diwali Release on 28th October, 2016  


 

     MOHENJO DARO 
 

Hritihik Roshan has devoted his energies to shoot for his upcoming period romance film, Mohenjo Daro. Based on the Indus Valley Civilization as seen from Mr. Ashutosh Gowarikar vision, this film is riding high on expectations.  Former Miss India Pooja Hegde will be seen as Hrithik’s ladylove. The film is set to release in the Independence Weekend on 12th August, 2015



DANGAL 

Aamir Khan considers Christmas to be very lucky for him as tested with the success of Ghajini & Dhoom 3. The superstar comes back in 2016 with his highly awaited film Dangal, where he will be seen as a wrestler who ages over 20-30 years. For the same, Aamir has undergone aggressive weight gain and loss to be able to portray both young and old characters. Interestingly, Sakshi Tanwar will be seen as his heroine. Disney shall back the film under the direction of Nitish Tiwari.
